History of Slots
Slots have been a popular attraction at land based casinos and arcades for decades now and they have gained just as much attention online, since the first one was introduced by Microgaming back in the mid-1990s. Many of the oldest online slots are in fact still around today and they are quite often referred to as classic slots, 3 reel slots or single line slots.
The results for online slots are determined by Random Number Generators, which means that the outcomes are as fair as can be. Since the first classic slot arrived online, there have been approximately 2000 slots developed for the virtual world. Slots went from having just 3 reels and 1 winning payline to having additional reels, as many as 100 winning paylines, scatter symbols, wild symbols, bonus rounds and plenty of other special features.
How to Play Slots
You only have to set your stake (how much you would like to spend per spin) and then press the 'spin', 'play' or 'start' button to spin the reels. You can adjust the bet-per-line value and the coin value, which means that most of today's slots have a betting range that starts from as little as 0.01 coins per spin (ideal for lowrollers) up to as much as 1000.00 coins per spin (ideal for highrollers).
The best advice to give would be to read each slots' 'rules' section before you start playing, or at least check out the paytable to see what each symbols actually does. You can also find out from this paytable how each bonus round is activated.
Strategy for Slots
First decide the type of slot that you would like to play on. You might prefer bonus round video slots but you have somehow ended up on a boring old classic slot. Also, try and keep your stake relevant to your budget. You don't want to be spending too much per spin or you could lose your entire bankroll in just seconds.
There is no detectable pattern with slots as the results are always random, but if you do get the feeling that the slot is acting rather generous towards you, you could increase your stake a little and vice versa if the slot seems to be gobbling all of your cash, simply reduce the stake.
