<< Back to Homepage

Do you spend hours at a time gambling? Do you spend all of your hard-earned cash on gambling? If you find that you are gambling as soon as you get the chance to do so, the chances are that you have some kind of gambling problem. The most important thing to do is to recognise whether or not you have a gambling problem. As soon as you have done this, you can then actively seek help for your problem.

Most problem gamblers can’t seem to stop gambling or have very little control over their spending. There are several different reputable charities and organisations out there today that offer help and advice for gamblers with problems. Most of these are non-profit organisations and they will treat each case with strict confidence.

Players in the UK can contact organisations such as GamCare, the National Problem Gambling Clinic, Gambleaware, Gamblers Anonymous, Gam-Anon UK and Ireland, the Gordon Moody Association, Gambling Therapy, National Debtline, the FSA and the Citizens Advice Bureau.

These sites offer plenty of information about gambling, which will help you to understand more about your gambling pattern and whether or not you should seek help. They are generally free to contact by telephone, otherwise local rates will apply. You can also contact them by email and a trained member of staff will be able to get back to you and talk to you privately. There are also plenty of forums where you can connect with other gamblers who are in a similar situation to you.

The important thing is that the advice and support is free. People are either in denial about their gambling problem or they are just reluctant to actually get any help because they think they can control it themselves. These people are often wrong and are generally the ones that need help the most.

Most of today’s reputable online casinos (and other similar gambling portals) have clickable logos of organisations such as ‘GamCare’ or ‘Gambleaware’. You can click on these links and they will instantly redirect you to their websites to learn more about gambling problems in general.
