Since the era of the millennium until now, technological advances are causing enormous changes in human life with all the civilization and culture. Technological advances such as television, telephones, computers, and internet is not to be one character of a lifestyle. Surely this will result in, any valuable information, both positive and negative, can be easily accessed by the public, including the level of children.

 

Until now, many millions of children and adolescents enter the digital era through the life of a virtual world on the Internet. Community  web-entertainment industry is growing by so fast. Club Penguin, Webkinz, Starfall, and Facebook may be just a fraction of the millions of 'kid-friendly sites' which is currently being loved by the children. Most fans of this website are the children of school age to college students. And a row of 'kid-friendly sites' very much enjoyed the benefits arising from this phenomenon. For example, Webkinz, maker of toys that take a character from the virtual-world visitors are experiencing growth of up to 6 million children this year, this figure is an increase of 300% jump from last year's acquisition rate. This is a new fact that children were an easy target that much coveted by advertisers today.

Apart from being targeted advertising, children are also very involved in the growth of multimedia technology, especially in education and entertainment. In the world of education has also seen how many sites and educational software used as a means of educating children. Even for children 5 years now has available educational software and games strung together with music to help them develop the ability and intelligence.

The development of games-games were very influential to children. And that is currently favored by the kids are online games. And also there are some children who enjoyed games-violent games, like war. This needs to be noted by parents or educators, as this will be bad for the kids and and very dangerous at all. But in the midst of developing games that create virtual worlds for children are, it turns out there is still little awareness shown by several vendors with the education game maker virtual worlds. Because, the child is the next generation, who will continue the social life, relationships with others, and concern over what happens in the real environment (social).

However things to note here is the easy and familiar with the child with the Internet and find various information on the Internet, should not be reduced verbal and social growth of children in the real world.

Wise use of technology in education is directed at a balance, timing, and social development that must not be ignored, such as:

  1. Children can use educational software such as programs basic knowledge of reading, arithmetic, history, geography, and so forth.
  2. The existence of technology increasingly motivate children to learn.
  3. Reading habits, such as reading stories of children via the Internet.
