Howard Gardner's theory, with multiple intelligences that divides the eight types of intelligence a person has, is able to change the face of education, namely the high appreciation of each individual. Award to help them towards certain professions and in accordance with their intelligence. And understanding in accordance with the nature of human beings that they are born different from both physical and psychological, interests and innate. High appreciation is, all children actually have intelligence, only their different intelligence domain.
In the past, most people understand that the so-called smart kids and their achievement is good at logic or language. Then, whether the child who enjoys music is not to say intelligent? Though it emerged from their interest. Or it is said disposition. If it does not say intelligent, then we actually have opposed the existing nature on human beings.
By understanding the theory of Gardner, educators will know that every child has a style and a different type of learning. How to make practice in the classroom that allow for individualization of each child's learning experience, the creation of school environments, and arrangement of the classroom.
Surely there are eight types of intelligence which is owned by a man (according to Gardner), among others:
According to Howard Gardner, the most important is the potential for intelligence, is as follows.
- Linguistic intelligence, intelligence that use and process the words, whether oral or written, effectively. Intelligence is partly owned by the writers, editors, and journalists.
- Mathematical-logical intelligence, ability is more associated with the use of numbers in the susceptibility patterns of logic and computation.
- Space intelligence, capabilities with respect to sensitivity about shapes and objects appropriately and the ability to quickly capture the visual world. This ability is usually owned by the architects, decorators and hunters.
- Bodily-kinesthetic intelligence, the ability to use gestures to express ideas and feelings. This capability is owned Leh actor, dancer, sculptor, athlete and surgeon.
- Musical intelligence, the ability to develop, express and enjoy other forms of music and sound. This capability is contained in the songwriter and singer.
- Interpersonal intelligence, a person's ability to understand and be sensitive to the feelings, motivations, temperament and character of others such as those held by self motivator and facilitator.
- Intrapersonal intelligence, a person's ability to recognize themselves. This ability is related to the ability to reflect (reflect) and balance itself.
- Naturalist intelligence, a person's ability to know nature, flora and fauna well.
