Understanding how children learn by looking at their learning modes

Brought oriented learning model in children, the best step is an educator or parent must understand them, are able to see from their perspective as a learner. So the perception is absent from adults, but departs from the needs of children.

There are three basic keys to understanding the early childhood, and in general it has been realized in the period of early childhood education, which is called the child's learning modes. Bruner (1966) in a research findings revealed that children pass through what is called the three stages: (1) enactive, (2) iconic, (3) symbolic.

During enactive, their learning modes in acquiring knowledge, starting with the objects or the environment reacts, then the results are done child interactions, will acquire new knowledge for children. For example, a child who dropped a glass on the floor, at first they were still empty understanding of the consequences that will occur, after the children acquire new knowledge which is then arranged in their cognitive, that when the glass dropped to the floor, will result in a loud voice or rupture. This is the essence of intent enactive modes, usually occurs in the early years of their lives.

In the iconic, children learn to like the icons that exist, is often seen in children aged two years and older, iconic manifestation of their learning modes, educators should include the icon of an object, or reading a book along with the icon. Often we see around us, kids love to see the old icons in the food wrap, or on other goods.

Symbolic action, is an activity represents a real understanding of who is in cognitive them into symbols, namely in the form of the playing. Because the play is actually a symbolic act to represent the children what they get from the environment, with the action according to their style. That is the game as a way to learn them.

This brief reviews, became a basic assumption for us to understand early childhood. In particular how we can create child-oriented learning, for realizing the learning in children, should understand what's going on psychologically or stages of their development.
